The Passover is symbolic of what Jesus did for all of humanity. In the same way that death “passed over” the houses of Israel that were marked with lamb’s blood during the time of Moses, death has lost it’s grip of all those who are purified and forgiven because of the blood that Jesus shed for us. Romans 10:9 states “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (saved from our sins, saved from God’s justified wrath against our sins).
It’s important to mention that those who put their trust in Jesus will therefore ““If you love me, keep my commands.” John 14:15 and ““Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” 2 Timothy 2:19. True love is accompanied by thankfulness and obedience.

While celebrating the Passover Jesus said “And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”” Luke 22:19. We celebrate the Passover as a constant reminder of what Jesus did for us.
